Reed Diffuser FAQs & Product Care

We want you to get the very best from our products and for your shopping experience with Mason Grant to be a positive one. Below are answers to some frequently asked questions and tips for caring for your Mason Grant reed diffusers.

What is a reed diffuser?

A reed diffuser is a flame-free way to fragrance your home continuously. Our reed diffusers work by allowing fragrance oil to travel up the reeds and gently release scent into the air over time. Each clear glass bottle contains 100 ml of luxurious fragrance and is supplied with 8 natural colour fibre reeds for optimal scent diffusion.

How do you use a reed diffuser?

Using a reed diffuser is simple. Remove the stopper from the bottle and carefully insert the fibre reeds into the fragrance oil. Allow the reeds to absorb the liquid and naturally disperse scent into the room.

For a stronger fragrance, you can turn the reeds after a few hours, ensuring the saturated ends are exposed to the air. Always wash your hands after handling reeds and avoid placing the diffuser on delicate surfaces without protection.

What are Mason Grant reed diffusers made from?

Mason Grant reed diffusers are hand-blended in small batches using quality fragrance oils and an eco-conscious, non-hazardous base. This formulation has been carefully developed to deliver long-lasting fragrance without unnecessary additives. As with all Mason Grant products, our reed diffusers are vegan-friendly and cruelty-free.

How long will the reed diffuser last?

Our 100 ml reed diffusers are designed to provide continuous fragrance for several weeks. Longevity can vary depending on room size, temperature and air flow. Warmer environments may cause the fragrance to evaporate more quickly, while cooler spaces tend to extend diffuser life.

How many reeds should I use?

We supply 8 fibre reeds with each diffuser, which we have found offers the best balance of fragrance strength and longevity. If you prefer a softer scent, you can use fewer reeds. Adding more reeds will increase scent throw but may reduce how long the diffuser lasts.

Where should I place my reed diffuser?

Place your diffuser in an area with good air circulation, such as hallways or living spaces, but avoid positioning it near radiators, fireplaces or direct sunlight. These can cause the fragrance oil to evaporate too quickly. Always place on a stable surface and consider using a coaster to protect furniture.

Do I need to turn the reeds?

Turning the reeds every 7–10 days can help refresh the fragrance. If you find the scent becoming weaker, flipping the reeds will expose the saturated ends and boost diffusion. Be mindful when doing this, as fragrance oil can mark surfaces.

Can I reuse or refill my diffuser bottle?

Yes, refills and additional reeds are available to order, and we actively encourage the reuse of your glass bottle. Replacing reeds when refilling is recommended, as reeds can become saturated over time and may not diffuse fragrance as effectively.

Where can I find allergy information?

All of our packaging conforms to CLP regulations and clearly displays any potential allergens. If you have specific sensitivities or questions, please feel free to contact us before use.

How should I store unused diffusers or refills?

Store reed diffusers and refills in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Always retain the original packaging for reference.
